Rangga Kusmalendra

Rangga Kusmalendra.

Rangga Kusmalendra is an Indonesian film director, cinematographer, and executive producer based in Jakarta. He is the co-founder of SIHIR, a story-driven production company working across commercial films, original IP, and hybrid live-action filmmaking.

His work is grounded in emotionally resonant storytelling and a strong cinematic point of view. Moving fluidly between directing and cinematography, Rangga has created commercial work for local and global brands while collaborating with agencies, production teams, and creative partners across Indonesia and Malaysia.

A formative chapter in Toronto expanded his perspective as both a filmmaker and a person. Returning to Jakarta, he began building SIHIR as a space to create ambitious work through healthier production practices, thoughtful collaboration, and the meaningful integration of new technology into traditional filmmaking.

Beyond commissioned work, Rangga is developing original narrative projects rooted in contemporary Indonesian life. Whether creating a commercial film or building a story from the ground up, he is drawn to honest human experiences, memorable visual worlds, and ideas that stay with the audience long after the final frame.
